10 things no one told you about YouSayToo - The adsense revenue sharing site.

Update:  I was recently contacted by the YouSayToo team and they nicely explained in detail about some of the open ended points and some which were misleading. I have updated the post accordingly...

Promote Your Blog
If you have been searching for new Adsense revenue sharing sites best suited to your needs, YouSayToo has been making a buzz recently. After all you are getting to earn a bit extra for the same blog you write anyways (Yes, you can RSS feed your blog to YouSayToo and your blog stays as it is with just one extra back link to YouSayToo from your blog). So if you have a blog and want to extract a bit more adsense out of it, you might want to try out this new adsense revenue sharing site.

While many have written articles with a lot of positives about YouSayToo, here I'll mention some of the facts that might have stayed away from the limelight in the race to get more referrals(I'll come back to this one later). But I'll try to bring into light a few points generally overlooked so as to give you a complete insight:

  1. YouSayToo doesn't share 50% adsense revenue with all it's users who have their adsense associated with YouSayToo. It is only with users who have a rating of 2+ (not even 2) and who have their adsense ID associated(of course). Users are rated on a scale of 0 to 5 (Update: Every post on YouSayToo gets 50/50 revenue sharing ratio regardless of rating.)
  2. Before associating your blog, you are asked to put a YouSayToo back link. While it is not clear why it is done, but there is a possibility is that Google treats the article on YouSayToo as original rather than the one on your blog and your blog ranking might suffer in Google or the entire article at both the places may suffer getting very low search engine traffic. This probably is also the reason why old articles aren't imported since Google might have already cached them and now Google knows which one is original (Though it could be said that RSS feed limitations are there in importing the previous articles but I guess there can always be methods developed easily to overcome that. When they can check if the last 3 articles are greater than 250 words or not, this isn't a completely new issue). So in case you get a lot of traffic from google search, it would be wise to abandon the thought of using YouSayToo. Did I mention that the backlinks you get from YouSayToo are "no follow"? (Update: The backlink from your blog to YouSayToo is needed to prove ownership of the blog to prevent plagiarism.)
